Three Days Left
Less than a week to go, and my to-do list has expanded exponentially (how does that happen?). We leave for China on Thursday. I'm now down to prioritizing in a triage sort of way, what absolutely has to get done before we're gone for five weeks. Yes, we are coming back to the US for the holidays, so it will be a short-ish trip before we're really living in China next year. It will be like a mini test-run to see if we've arranged everything to keep working in our absence well enough.
This all assumes that Marc gets his passport back with a new Chinese visa, there was a small delay as his passport was due to expire next year and that had to get renewed before the Chinese embassy would give him a visa.
Both kids have their driver's licenses (pshew finally!) and are on our insurance (ouch$$). Note this picture is actually when they got their permits, the smiles are even bigger now. Wheels=Freedom
Suitcases are getting packed and weighed.
Early Thanksgiving dinner has been consumed (thanks Mom!)
Mandarin Rosetta Stone course has been installed and begun.
Okay, back to the to-do list and packing and tearing my hair out!

Two Weeks to Go
The countdown has finally begun, in two weeks we'll be heading back to Shenzhen China again.
(These pictures are from our family trip there in December of 2011.)
This time though it will just be Marc and I for a year. The kids are staying at home to go to college. We're leaving the nest instead of them! Marc's been traveling there for work for several years now, a couple weeks at a time, almost every month, so this will be a big, hopefully positive change for him (and me too.)
We saw a lot of great stuff on our trip, and we're excited to get to live there for a year and explore more thoroughly, it will be an adventure.
Not sure if we'll get back up to Beijing for a while though, as I'm not bringing my winter gear this time.
There's just not enough room in my suitcase for it along with everything else including all the quilting stuff I'm bringing.
